Are you sick of Star Wars before it even hits the theaters? I don’t blame you, I think this is the most over hyped show in the history of EVER. Everywhere you turn there is something with Star Wars blazoned across it.
On a recent grocery trip I surprised how many Star Wars branded items I found. Come on, it’s the grocery store. I would expect to see them in the cereal aisle or on candy, but on produce and water? What do they have to do with Star Wars? When was the last time Darth Vader ate an apple?
Not one to be left out of the limelight Deadpool has stepped back into the forefront to remind us that he has a movie coming out in February and that he has a new movie trailer airing on December 25th.
I guess he’s not as short as she thought he was because Mark Hamill has once again donned the Stormtrooper gear. This time it isn’t to rescue a Princess, but it is still for a worthy cause, supported by Omaze. A new Omaze charity video shows Mark Hamill hitting the street and interacting with Star Wars fans, unfortunately they don’t know it’s him.
The newest Marvel announcement by Director Bryan Singer is the casting of Olivia Munn as Betsy Braddock. The actress from The Newsroom will be playing Psylocke in the May 2016 release X-Men:Apocalypse.
Olivia Munn is best known for her role as Sloan Sabbith on The Newsroom and has had a variety of minor roles since 2004 and a large variety of guest appearance on talk shows.
Psylocke started out as a minor supporting character in Marvel UK series Captain Britain, she is the twin sister of the title character and briefly held the title herself before shifting to the pages of X-Men.
Betsy’s powers gradually grew from those of a precog to a full blown telepath. She is one lady you would feel sorry for, if she wasn’t so damn tough. She has been kidnapped at least twice and brain washed each time. The first kidnapping led to a bionic eye and the name Psylocke. The second kidnapping and brainwashing led to her taking on a totally new appearance and becoming the Hand’s ultimate assassin.
Now she is a model with powerful psychic abilities and awesomely advanced martial arts training.
Now I wonder if we might have a chance to also see Captain Britain, or least hear a mention of him? I don’t know about some of you, but I think he deserves his own movie.
Yesterday I was asked why did I pick the name “Killer Tea Cup” for this blog and the quick simple answer would be that I like the name. The true answer is a little longer.
When I set up this blog the intention was for it to be my online portfolio, where I would do article writing on various subjects in different styles and for the most part I have kept to that. I was originally tried to pick names that had something to do with what the blog would be, but as I am slow to join this online world of writing all the good names had been taken. I tried the obvious ones such as writersportfolio, ghostwriter etc..I even tried various phonetic spellings and none of them worked.
As I sat back to contemplate new names I picked up my cup and had a sip of my tea…there we go, almost everyone has a tea or coffee cup beside their computer (or bottle of something). So I decided it would have something to do with my morning tea, still no luck on the variations.
The previous night I had been on a sci-fi kick and had watched Pitch Black followed by its sequel The Chronicles of Riddick and it was from there that I came up with the perfect title for my new blog “Killer tea cup”. During the prison scene on Cremetoria Riddick kills one of the prison guards with his tea cup.
Though now that I am looking up the actual lines I probably should have used “Death by Tea Cup” but I like what I have and it makes people ask questions, which is always a good thing.
How did you come up with your site/blog/screen name?
